What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is, quite literally, a digital SIM card (no physical card needed) which is quickly becoming the new technological standard. By using an eSIM, you can activate a data plan without having to purchase or insert a physical sim card in your phone.

Many phones now allow you to have more than one SIM in your phone; this is called Dual SIM. Dual SIM gives you the opportunity to have two phone providers in one phone; one with a physical SIM and one with an eSIM.

For example:

• You might want to add an eSIM with a local data provider when you travel to a different region or country

• You might want to have different providers for voice and data plans

• You can use one line for business and the other for personal calls
